ABOUT
Laura Colwell is an editor and musician based in LA and Austin. Her most recent work on JAZZY earned her and Vanara Taing an Independent Spirit Award Nomination for Best Editing. She has over a decade of experience in indie film and network television, having worked with Terrence Malick (Voyage of Time, Song to Song), Morrisa Maltz (Ingrid, The Unknown Country, Jazzy), TLC network (My 600-lb Life, Skin Tight), and for Austin Film Society supported filmmakers Deborah Esquenazi (Night In West Texas), Mike Blizzard (Also Starring Austin), and Karen Skloss (The Honor Farm). Her love of documentary, drama, and comedy, as well as her background in music are blueprints of her work. When she’s not editing, she’s producing/directing music videos for her band Sun June and touring in a van around the world.
